LIFE SCHOOL MUSICAL The Young Musicians Camp 2008 concert made a grand appearance at First Southern Baptist Church on Thursday evening, August 7. Our kids were part of the team that made an excellent performance. It's overwhelming to see so many kids on stage! And it's totally amazing how they teach so many kids the hand motions and songs. If you were part of the performance, and you're reading this, email us your experiences at camp. |

With "High School Musical 3" out on the loose, "Life School Musical" wasn't what I thought it was going to be at all. It was a great musical about the three keys to life (faith, hope, and love ... at least, I hope I got it right). The characters were great as well, Biblical characters and classroom characters alike. My favorites were (the girl who faints), Bugs, and everyone who popped out of the shipping crate, Professor John, Peter the Fisherman, Prodigal Son, and Sam the Samaritan. A big thumbs up to the magician who filled the shipping crate up with small boxes after all the Biblical characters made their shipping crate exit! Nice work. From where I was sitting, I didn't see a thing - and I didn't suspect that one coming. My favorite "fun" song was the Bugs song. Having kids move through the audience this year was an interesting surprise as well. As always, the musical contained lyrics that led me to reflect on my spiritual walk. No doubt, along with God's Holy Spirit, this was part of why 57 children gave their lives to Christ during camp! A big thumbs up to Claire, one of our own kids who made the "Student Scripture Reader" team. Great job. Oh, by the way Claire, one of your secret fans - who I can't name because he would be very embarrassed and he threatened to eat all of my chocolate if I told you who he was - says "Hey beautiful, most excellent work!" For all the hard work, fun characters, and good songs I give this performance 5 stars. Thank you to all our kids and their parents for making this program possible. Mr. David [menu] |
